Cleverly utilize unused space: Magnetic seat panel holder for the Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper, and Peugeot Boxer.
Unused Storage Space: Shoe Compartment under the Seats in a Camper Van
In a camper van, every inch of storage space counts – especially in the entrance area, where shoes, slippers, and sandals quickly get in the way. The hollow space in the seat bases of the driver and passenger seats (Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer) offers perfect space for shoe storage. The problem: the original plastic seat panel is firmly screwed or inconveniently clipped.
With special magnetic holders, the original seat trim can be transformed into a practical, removable flap in no time. This makes the hollow space under the swivel console immediately accessible without the need for tools.
The magnetic holders use the existing mounting points on the seat console. The original look is 100% preserved, while the panel can be quickly removed and reattached magnetically with a single movement.
Required Material & Components
- 3D-printed magnetic holder set (weather and temperature resistant)
- Strong neodymium magnets for secure hold during travel
- Matching mounting screws for the original seat box
- Original seat panel (driver or passenger side)
Step-by-Step: Assembly & Conversion
1. Detach original seat panel
First, carefully loosen the original screws or retaining clips of the plastic panel on the seat console and remove the cover. It's best to briefly vacuum the hollow space underneath and remove any dirt.
2. Mount magnetic holders on the seat console
The vehicle-side holders are screwed directly to the existing mounting points of the seat console. Thanks to the precise manufacturing, no additional drilling into the vehicle chassis is necessary.
3. Attach and insert counterparts to the seat panel
The magnetic counterparts are attached to the back of the panel. Then, the panel can simply be brought to the seat base – the neodymium magnets pull the panel precisely into position and hold it absolutely rattle-free, even while driving.

Conclusion & Everyday Experience
A small upgrade with huge benefits in everyday camping: shoes disappear neatly under the seat immediately after getting in and no longer block the walkway. Thanks to the magnetic attachment, access remains effortless, and the original look of the cockpit is fully preserved.
