Gäggersteg Treetop Walk in Gantrisch Nature Park

Our Trip
After our wonderful hike to Gantrischseeli, we drove on Sunday to the Gäggersteg Treetop Walk, which is only about 10 minutes away. From the upper parking lot at the Gantrisch cross-country ski center, the entire circular route took us a little over two hours.
At this point, I would like to mention that the path is quite steep in places – it can be quite strenuous for very young children. Our son Louis mastered the route with flying colors, but he definitely reached his limits. However, with two to three short breaks, the tour was very manageable for both of us.
A great highlight for families: you can pick up a small discovery booklet directly at the start of the circular trail. Children can collect stamps at various stations and playfully explore nature. The educational panels impressively explain the animal and plant world as well as the traces of the natural disaster caused by Hurricane Lothar, which destroyed large parts of the forest at the time.

Description:
Officially, overnight stays are not permitted directly at the Gantrisch cross-country ski center hut. However, according to information on Park4Night, about two campers can park in the lower parking lot.
However, we discovered another option where overnight stays are not explicitly forbidden: If you drive towards the Gantrisch cross-country ski center hut, turn left shortly before it, towards Ottenleue. After about 300 meters, there are paid parking spaces on the left side of the road. There is no explicit ban on overnight stays for campers posted here. Nevertheless, as always: Please always observe local signage and behave with unwavering consideration.
