LockLine Rings

Modular positioning. Minimal weight. The flexible Light solution against cross-loading.

The LockLine Light positioning rings offer the proven guiding and anti-twist effect of our classic LockLine system in an unattached, ultralight design. Instead of a continuous bridge, the Light version uses separate individual rings: place one or more rings exactly where you need your guide chamber on the carabiner leg. This keeps solo belay devices, connection slings, or belay devices reliably fixed in the stable longitudinal axis – without slipping and without cross-loading. The rings can be smoothly slid over the nose of the open carabiner, stretch snugly around the profile, and reliably hold their position without damaging the metal or anodizing.

🎛️

Freely configurable

Determine the distance of your guide chamber for a sling or belay device yourself according to your needs.

🛡️

Protection & shape stability

Permanently shape-stable, tear-resistant, and vibration-dampening – protects the carabiner from abrasion points and retains its tension.

🪶

Ultralight design

The unattached ring design reduces the material to the functional minimum – ideal for weight-optimized LRS setups.

🎯

Secure hold on the leg

Precise inner diameter for a firm form-fit on the carabiner back without annoying wandering during climbing use.

Compatibility & range of use

  • Universally suitable for the legs of common locking carabiners (oval, HMS, and D shapes e.g. CT, Petzl, DMM, Skylotec)
  • Excellent for LRS setups (Lead Rope Solo) for the axial guiding of solo belay devices (e.g. Grigri, Revo)
  • Suitable for round slings, webbing slings, anchor slings, and chest harness guides
  • Variable use: As a single stopper or in pairs as a double-sided limited chamber

🔧 Assembly & Adjustment ▾

This is how you set up the LockLine Light rings:

  1. Open the snap: Open the gate of your unloaded carabiner completely.
  2. Stretch & slide the ring: Stretch the ring slightly with your fingers and carefully pull it over the carabiner nose onto the leg.
  3. Choose position & chamber: Slide the ring to the desired position. For a double-sided limited chamber (e.g. for a solo belay device), place a second ring next to it at the desired distance.
  4. Function check: Close the carabiner, lock the sleeve, and check that the locking gate operates 100% freely.
⚠️ Important safety note ▾

Please strictly observe before use:

  • No Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The LockLine Light rings are purely passive positioning and organization aids. They do not absorb any catch forces and do not replace any safety-relevant system element.
  • Locking check: When sliding them on, pay meticulous attention that the rings sit with sufficient distance from the locking mechanism. The snap, Keylock nose, and locking sleeve (Screw-, Twist- or Triact-Lock) must be able to lock completely and unhindered at all times.
  • Dry test on the ground: Check the interaction between the rings, carabiner, and belay device on the ground under rope movement for free movement and blocking behavior before entering the rope.
  • Regular visual inspection: Inspect for stretching, cracks, or wear before every use; replace damaged rings immediately.
